Review
The Secrets of Chateau Swansea is a gripping, gothic mystery romance that captivated me from beginning to end. Maribeth is an intriguing character; I love how different and refreshing she is. How independent from the women of her time in that she wanted to work as a psychic investigator to support herself. She'd chosen this path because she didn't believe any man would be interested enough in her to marry her. Arthur wasn't nice to her in the beginning and he had secrets he's keeping the entire story, but I like how he can't help but be fascinated with Maribeth, even while he believes nothing could happen between them.The mystery of Mrs. Turner's murder provides twists and turns as we see Maribeth try to solve the question of who the murderer is, and even goes further to a deeper mystery, one that happened ages ago at Chateau Swansea. I love being carried along for the ride even as I try to solve both mysteries, one of which I was successful and the other I was not.
Overall, an engaging, captivating read!
