My Review



I hardly read non-romance, so it was a pleasure to read Kane by Carol McKibben and found that I enjoyed it a lot. The story moves at a steady pace, somewhat fast toward the second half as Brogio tried to contain the mess that Kane had inadvertently unleashed upon the world. Kane was believable as a new vampire, even his desires to be one perfectly relatable. (I'm always moaning about how I need more time to do this or that. But to be a vampire, if given the chance? Hmm…now that I have to consider carefully. Anyways…)

I do wish we could've seen more about Brogio's side of things, get into his thoughts and emotions about Kane and what he's done. For example, did he regret turning Kane? Brogio was intriguing, especially what he mentioned about his past. I'm happy to note though that we'll get to read more about Brogio and Selene in the Snow Blood series.

I'm interested to read the next installments and I hope the story will also include more tidbits on the secondary characters, or a whole story!, especially Kane's cousin Marco.
